Palestinians Writers to Follow on Instagram

In the face of adversity various forms of expression take a stand for justice, for representation – for revolution. Now more than ever Palestinian artists, poets and cooks are raising their voices for peace in their homeland. We’ve listed some very talented creatives on social media who are showing the beautiful culture, history, and stories from Palestine.
We first highlighted the chefs of Palestine, now we have a handful of writers to follow on Instagram.
Hailing from Ramallah, Barghouti is a Palestinian writer and commentator. Her writing has appeared in the New York Times, Al-Jazeera English and more. Her insight into the situation is extremely informative when it comes to life in the West Bank.
Mohammed el Kurd

Mohammed El-Kurd is an award-winning Palestinian writer and poet from Sheikh Jarrah in East Jerusalem. He was pursuing a Master’s in the United States before returning home to protest the forced evictions in Sheikh Jarrah. His book Rifqa consists of a collection of poetry that narrates his own experience of dispossession.
Susan Abulhawa is a Palestinian-American writer and political activist. Born to refugee parents from the Six Day War of 1967, her family’s land was seized by Israel when she was only a child. She is the author of several books, and the founder of a non-governmental organisation, Playgrounds for Palestine, that fights for Palestinian children’s right to play. Currently she lives in Yardley, Pennsylvania.
